30 words direct answer
Because some combinations are not unordered pairs.
Detailed description
Some gender_locked combinations will produce different offspring depending on the gender direction of the parents: the female Wixen is mated to the male Katress to produce Wixen Noct, and the male Wixen is mated to the female Katress to produce Katress Ignis. If the tool sorts all pairs into unordered combinations, it will miscalculate such samples. The order of judgment is: special coverage and gender direction take precedence over the general formula; when the formula falls in the middle of two Pals equidistantly, the winner is determined by the measured tie winner table. When the hand calculation is not correct, first confirm whether the table you are using and the data layer on the site are the same version baseline.
Judge your situation first
| what do you want to do now | Judgment method | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Check the descendants of the current version | Using parent → offspring, the result will show regular type and 1.0 status. | Open the breeding tool |
| Check target offspring | Use offspring → parent to check back and list all possible combinations, grouped by rules. | Check available parents |
| Waiting for 1.0 verification | "Waiting for verification after 1.0 goes online" is not invalid, nor is it confirmed; status such as "changed in 1.0" will be written back after T0. | Look at the rule card |
Operation sequence
| order | action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Confirm if you are checking for version readiness or if you are asking if 1.0 is confirmed. |
| 2 | First look at the rule type output by the tool: formula, special_override, gender_locked or self_only. |
| 3 | Do not substitute the gender direction combination in reverse; the tool will retain the direction annotation. |
| 4 | After 1.0 goes online, only regression samples and data layer results will be used to update the status. |
Common misunderstandings
| Misunderstanding | why to avoid |
|---|---|
| Unordered pair miscalculation | The gender_locked (gender direction locked) combination may not result in the same result when reversed. |
| old answer contamination | Popular recipes are most easily copied from each other by old tools and old articles. |
| Only look at descendant names | You must look at the rule type, data source and version validity at the same time. |
