World Tree, Sunreach & Awakening FAQ

The 1.0 endgame regions and Awakening materials: how to farm Radiant Gems and craft Awakening Crystals.

What is Awakening?

A new system that pushes Pals further using Radiant Gems from deep in the World Tree.

Confirmed in the official changelog: gather Radiant Gems deep in the newly opened World Tree and use them on Pals to awaken hidden power. Gems come in 9 element types — Water, Electric, Ground, Grass, Fire, Ice, Dragon, Dark and Neutral — so each Pal needs materials matching its own element.

Positionally (community consensus), Awakening is another endgame layer stacked on top of condensation and soul enhancement: finish those existing systems first, then treat Awakening as the new 1.0 ceiling.

How do I farm Radiant Gems?

Defeat or catch Pals inside the World Tree; gem element matches the Pal's element.

Community-verified: Radiant Gems only drop from Pals inside the World Tree region, and the gem's element matches the Pal's own — hunt Dark Pals there for Dark gems. Both defeating and catching count, and the same drops include World Tree Holy Water.

Efficiency tip: since catches count too, farming gems pairs naturally with completing the 1.0 Paldeck; loop routes dense in your target element. Exact drop rates are not yet re-verified on-site — trust in-game results.

How are Awakening Crystals crafted?

Ancient Workbench: 50 same-element Radiant Gems + 10 World Tree Holy Water per crystal.

Community-verified: one Awakening Crystal = 50 same-element Radiant Gems + 10 World Tree Holy Water, crafted at the Ancient Workbench. The workbench unlocks high in the tech tree and its build cost uses World Tree materials such as Soralite. The finished crystal is element-typed and only works on a Pal of the same element.

Each crystal costs 50 gems of farming, so pick recipients deliberately: core battle-team members and long-term favorites first — don't sink the first batch into stopgap Pals. Exact stat gains are pending on-site verification.

What is exclusive to the World Tree?

The story endgame zone: Awakening materials, World Tree passives and Paloxite ore are all exclusive here.

Officially the World Tree is the final story region, resolving why the island's factions fight over the towers. Three exclusive resource classes: Radiant Gems and Holy Water for Awakening; Pals that spawn only here carrying World Tree passives (powerful with trade-offs, cataloged in the on-site passives table); and Soralite / Paloxite ores plus ancient-civilization relics.

What is Sunreach?

New islands floating above Palpagos: new Pals, sky tower bosses and special ores.

Official: Sunreach floats above Palpagos on the power of Paldium, with its own ancient civilization, settlements and sub-missions, plus Pals and tower bosses found nowhere else. Some ores require specialized equipment to mine — sort your gear line out before heading up.

Division of labor: Sunreach is the exploration-and-collection continent, the World Tree the story-and-progression endgame. Returning players usually level and collect in Sunreach first, then take on the World Tree.

What is the Wing Pack?

A new glider that burns Wing Cells for free-form flight without a Pal.

Official: the Wing Pack is a new glider type that consumes Wing Cells for highly free flight without relying on a Pal — combined with the sky islands and the enlarged map, it is the biggest change to how you move in 1.0. On the gathering side, the Plasma Multicutter arrives alongside it.
