Questions in this guide
Why is the Panthalus fight so hard, and what actually beats it?
Panthalus has 200 base defense — the highest in the game. Stop stacking survivability; bring Electric damage into its Water weakness.
The reason this fight walls people: Panthalus has 200 base defense, the highest defense stat of any Pal, while its own attack is only 120. So the fix isn't more survivability — it's that most of your damage is bouncing off that 200 defense.
Panthalus is pure Water, and Water takes 1.5x from Electric. Against a wall that high, the type multiplier does more work than any stat you can stack on top. Build the team around Electric attackers first, then worry about gear.
Does "(Does not stack)" on partner skills block different Pals with the same buff?
No — the tag is scoped to the skill, not the effect. Two Hoocrates don't stack, but Hoocrates + Demon Eye do.
Data side: Hoocrates' and Demon Eye's partner skills are word-for-word identical in the game text — both read "increases Attack of Dark Pals by (15~30)%. (Does not stack)" — but the skill names differ (Dark Knowledge vs Demonic Sight). The no-stack tag binds to the skill name, not to the effect.
Practical rule: duplicating the same species is wasted, pairing different species that carry the same-worded buff is not.
Where should I set up an oil base at level 55?
179 crude oil nodes total. Feybreak has the most (56); Sakurajima has the best density (22 nodes, 0.38 per cell) and is reachable at 55.
Node distribution from the 1.0 data: Feybreak 56 (281 cells), Mount Obsidian 30 (138), Desiccated Dunes 30 (141), Sakurajima 22 (58), Astral Mountains 10, Oasis Isle 6, everywhere else 2 or fewer. Sakurajima's density (0.38 per cell) is nearly double Feybreak's (0.20), and it's reachable at level 55.
Alternative path: once you unlock the blue oil extractor, placement stops being about node maps entirely and becomes a flat-ground problem.
Should I throw away low-tier schematics?
No. The drafting table (level 45) fuses 5 same-type schematics one tier down into 1 of the next tier — commons are feedstock for legendaries.
The drafting table unlocked at level 45 turns 5 copies of the same schematic into 1 of the tier above, and rare → epic → legendary all follow that same 5-to-1 step. Every schematic recipe in the 1.0 data works this way — all 281 of them.
So a pile of junk commons isn't clutter, it's the input for a legendary. Keep them sorted by type instead of selling.
Where does Wumpo Botan spawn?
Sakurajima purple zones at level 53–55, a fixed level-38 alpha at (449, -51) on the main island, the World Tree area at 80, and Sakurajima grade-1 eggs.
Wild spawns: Sakurajima's purple zones, level 53 to 55, in both the inland and waterfront tables. If you just want one early, there's a fixed alpha around level 38 at (449, -51) on the main island. It also appears in the World Tree area at level 80, and hatches from Sakurajima grade-1 eggs.
How do I farm ancient cores?
Raids are the bulk source (Blazamut Ryu / Bellanoir Libero drop 2–4 guaranteed). Wild Silvance and Dandilord don't help — their wild spawns are alpha-only and alphas roll a coreless table.
Raid bosses are the volume source: Blazamut Ryu and Bellanoir Libero both drop 2 to 4 ancient cores guaranteed, Bellanoir 1 to 3.
The trap: Silvance and Dandilord drop 1 core at 100% — but only their normal variants. Their wild spawns are alpha-only at level 78, and alphas roll a different drop table with no core in it, so hunting the wild ones gives you nothing. Get normal variants through breeding instead.
